There’s been a lot going on with Blue Spirit this year, with activities rolled out for old and new friends, some great funding news that will support our sustainability, two new trustees, and an exciting taster sailing experience for some of our board members. On top of all this, there are some fun ways that you can involved over the next few weeks.

Although the winter months mean the doldrums in terms of sailing, Blue Spirit has not been idle. Our most exciting achievement was to hold three screenings of our film and photo essay In His Slipstream, which many of you helped make possible through your generous support.

This year, not only have there been some exciting new developments, but we also wanted to showcase some feedback from those we work with and give a glimpse of the impact sailing can have on young people’s lives.

Blue Spirit now has charity status, a lovely board of Trustees, a bank account and a website, so we are ready to roll.

All we need now is to replenish our coffers so that we can continue offering extraordinary experiences to young people. It's make or break time!

Blue Spirit has been in operation for a year now - and what a year it's been! Thanks to your generous support, coupled with the enduring inspiration of our amazing Laury, we have enabled over 50 young sailors to get out on the water (some more than once), sailed across the channel and joined forces with a creative crew to help us spread the word.

During Mental Health Awareness week, we are bringing you news of our exciting plans to raise awareness about mental health & suicide, and increase young people's wellbeing through sailing this year.

Your generous support – and the hard work of Sail Boat Project and ESTEEM – have enabled two groups of young people to experience Blue Spirit-funded sailing trips.
